How a San Francisco coffee innovator inspired a loyal following around the world.
Arnold Spinelli
LaCoppa Coffee Founder
Our founder, Arnold Spinelli, co-founded Spinelli Coffee in 1984, when there were only six Starbucks stores, four Peet’s Coffee stores and fewer than 100 specialty coffee roasters in the USA. Soon after Arnold and his partner opened their first coffee roastery, Alfred H. Peet, widely considered the father of specialty coffee, sought them out and a long-lasting frienship and mentoring began. Under Alfred’s tutelage, Arnold learned the art of sourcing, roasting and blending the finest coffees, confirming for Arnold that you don’t choose to get into coffee, the coffee life chooses you. In 1986, the first Spinelli Coffee shop opened in San Francisco and quickly developed a loyal following.
LaCoppa Coffee was born out of Arnold’s passion for delivering freshly roasted artisan blends to coffee connoisseurs across the country.
